Birthday Basics Quick Card

It’s my eldest brother’s birthday today. He and our other brother live 250 miles away from my parents and myself, so we don’t get to see each other all that often. However, it doesn’t stop my children asking every few weeks ‘when’s Uncle Nik coming up’ or ‘are we going to see Uncle Justin soon’…

The older 2 boys are spot on at remembering birthdays, particularly Luke who’s own birthday is the day after Justin’s, and in the 4 weeks between his and his next sibling down, there’s 2 more family birthdays (yes, the Summer is an busy time!)

Sometimes, not always, they will want to give a card to Nanna, or to someone else. This time though, because they’re seeing me making cards far more than they’ve ever done previously, they want to get in on the act. And this is what we came up with for Uncle Nik.

My boys love the punches, and the petite curly label with some Birthday Basics Designer Series paper worked really well. The stamp is actually from Storybook Friends, but I butchered my stamps and separated the words from the images, so I was able to use them independently of one another!

I layered it all up onto a 3×3 card blank and mat of Naturals Ivory and popped all the punch outs up on dimensionals.

Kinda cute right?

I hope he likes it, and I hope you can see the versatility in a punch and some patterned papers.
