Stampin’ Up! UK Softly Subtle Smile
Okay, it’s a soft smile. A pretty smile. A make-it-all-better smile! Don’t you think? I do!
I haven’t played with the Flower Shop stamp set and Pansy Punch for a while, and I decided it was time to get it out again and just stamp. No DSP, just ink, stamp, punch and me.
And I’m a bit of a rainbow girl. I like things to follow a particular order, whether it’s alphabetical, numerical or colour order. I’m told I’ve been like it since childhood. My Mum tells me I discovered ‘spectrum’ colour orders, (where you start at yellow rather than the red of the usual ‘rainbow’ order), and since then, apparently I’ve always put things into colour palettes like that.
I certainly recall making sure my crayon and pencil boxes were laid out like that, and glancing to my right, I know that my inks are all stacked like that….
But I like to work with more than one colour at a time and I fancied using 5 colours, but soft ones, to make this card.
Simply, I inked and stamped the flower shop ‘sketchy’ stamp 5 times, using So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Blushing Bride, than punched them out. I decided to use the matching Candy Dot colours, but I put them into the brad bases this time, and used those to center the pansies. Too cute!
Finally, I pulled out the Happy Days stamp set and using the same coloured Stampin’ Write Markers, I inked up each one and stamped it directly onto some Whisper White Cardstock. After that, it was just a case of adding a Pool Party Candy Dot over the ‘i’ and then layering the 5 pansies up the side of the card with mini glue dots, and popping the whole thing up on dimensionals onto a Whisper White Card Blank.
It’s softly pretty, and subtly gentle. I love this. I love the colours, and I love the pairing.
So so pleased that it’s a bundled offer in the catalogue with a 15% saving. To me, £28.25 (£31.75 wood) is a brilliant price for 2 non-consumable tools that I have used over and over again. I would say that the pleasure they’ve given me to work with is priceless, and knowing the cards and projects I’ve made specifically for people using these have been received with total delight, well that’s priceless too.
I hope you like my card, and how I’ve taken a much loved duo and given it a little twist!
