So I’m going 10 years back to my old roots. The kind of card making I used to do when my eldest was a tiny baby.
I didn’t use rubber stamps, I didn’t use peel offs, I didn’t use stickers. I would punch, cut and trim. That was all I would do.
I’d layer elements of papers and ribbons, and add pearls or beads. Something to just lift it a little.
Using any kind of ‘tool’ to me back then, was limited to a couple of square or round punches, and the occasional flower punch. I didn’t have a die cutting machine or embosser, it was all done manually by hand.
So this card, using that oh so fabulous Modern Medley, seemed almost like a card I’d have made 10 years ago, but with the more ‘modern’ styling of the popular monochromatic look, I don’t think this is dated at all. At least I hope not….
Anyway, well, I embossed my Very Vanilla Panel with an Adorning Accent Folder this time, it’s just a lovely shape. And not being able to read music, I’m not sure if it’s just me, but it reminds me of the symbols you might get on a sheet of music. (patiently hopes for someone to clarify, or correct me. Either way is fine!)
And the Cherry Cobbler Ribbon? Just because I love it. And also because part of my mind wandered, as it does, into orchestral music and symphonies, and I could imagine all the ladies and gentlemen in the audience in their finery and men wearing cummerbunds, perhaps even one in this colour. Slightly aristocratic perhaps?
So, I hope you like this Modern Medley card, and that although it has no stamped image, the beauty of Stampin’ Up! means that simple layering of their beautiful products can create something attractive.
