Loving Thoughts of a Dictionary? Teacher Card Perhaps…

Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles - Loving Thoughts of a Dictionary Teacher Card Perhaps...

Only 11 days left of the awesome Retiring List. Bargains galore to be had, and wish list products to be grabbed while you can…!

When I made this card a few weeks back, I was in ‘manly’ card mode, but as it came together, I pondered as to whether it would be a good card for a teacher. Perhaps with a colour change for the female teachers, or those who have a clear preference for one colour over another (I had a music teacher who only wore pale blue cardigans…), but I kind of like the effect of the Dictionary Stamp with the ink splat from Gorgeous Grunge, and then a twist of linen thread (loose shoelace?) under the ‘create’ from the Loving Thoughts stamp set. (punched with the Ticket Duo Punch – it’s quite angular and I think it works well here!)

Would it work with a colour change? I think so!

But for this one here, I kept it totally one colour.

Crumb Cake.

It felt a bit ‘aged’ and worn, and with the sponging on the edges, it seemed to end up heading towards the stereotypical ink strewn revision notes that this time of year brings to us here in the UK, with kids finishing off their A Levels and GCSE exams, and in the case of my eldest son, his last few days at middle school as he prepares himself to start secondary school in September.

So I love the card’s idea, but I may well switch the colours about for Jack, Luke and Jacob’s teachers, and maybe get Oliver’s playgroup leaders something less academic in the background, and a little more ‘play’!

Oh, and while I remember, Loving Thoughts is retiring, it’s currently got a good discount on it, but it will go in the next 11 days. I will miss it. It was one of the sets I put into my first demo order. I love the words, I deliberately bought it to use to put onto the fronts of notebooks, and it’s a rare book that I cover that doesn’t have one of the words on it.
