So You Project Kit and Leadership Swaps

Okay, this is quite possibly the most surreal project I have ever made in my life…

When I went out to Leadership in the US at the end of January, there was a group of around 35 European Demos there too.  One of them, the lovely Jenni Pauli, suggested that we do something called a C&C swap. I’m still completely oblivious to what C&C stands for, but after much explaining, it turns out its a small size swap that you do that has your own photograph on it.

And that’s where the surreal part comes in. I’m not the best at having my photo taken, and definitely am one to be in the background rather than the forground, despite my very public videos, and it was so strange to make a whole load of swaps that had my photo as the focal point!

24 of us in total took part in the swap and Jenni set the sizing so that we could all add the swaps we received to the So You Project Kit in the Spring Catalogue.

As a non scrapbooker/project lifer, this to me, is a great way to start. Although having said that, I still haven’t actually put my kit together yet….

But I thought I’d show you the swap I did, with the only photo I really like of me in recent years, from my Birthday weekend with Chris last year!

Our swap sizes for the So You kit are 4×4″ (20 x 20cm) and I used Basic Black as my background with Maritime DSP for the starry backdrop.  I punched my photo out with the 1″ Square punch and backed it with a Postage Stamp Punch of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a Curly Label Punch of Basic Black.

Of course, I had to get in some Linen Thread, and in the top corner of each, depending on where the DSP stars fell, are a trio of mini Basics Pearls.

Hopefully this week I’ll get some time to put my kit together and when I do, I’ll show you all their faces too!
