Something to Say with Bordering Blooms

I think there’s something rather lovely about adding a bright sunshine Daffodil Delight yellow to the murky Smokey Slate greyness that is pretty much what British weather is all about.

You get the rain and wind and grey skies, but then you get a load of Daffodils popping out that seem completely out of place!

That was the inspiration for my card today, and so I took that murky grey and stamped a Bordering Blooms line on one side.

I didn’t want to totally populate it with yellow Something To Say flowers, so I added 3 each of the Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate that I punched with the Itty Bitty Accents punch.

Now one might think that it’s not a typical birthday card, but heck, you can add any sentiment to this card and it would be a quick insta-card. So that’s what I did! I added the Happy Birthday from the same stamp set, punched out with the Word Window punch and scattered some Rhinestones about and it’s done!

Simple and sunny through a grey old day!

  1. Very sweet, I love the bordering blooms set. Maybe this card will bring some sunshine your way!!!

  2. A lovely, clean and simple card Sam, I just decided to add the Bordering Blooms to my order, I’ve been putting it off for a while but today, you just convinced me that this is a must have set.
Love the pop of bright yellow against the Smoky Slate vine, super simple and beautiful.
I hope the sun shines for you this week, up here in North West Indiana, the temperatures suddenly dropped dramatically, it’s about 36 degrees right now, sheeesh!! I hope my Daffodils and Tulips can take this cold snap.

  3. great combination that grey and yellow.Lovely any occasion card

  4. Is it me, or does the card look extra tall? Maybe an optical illusion from the long viney stamp? Regardless, I just love the gray and yellow together! So cheerful!
