Pretty Petals Layered Card

Stampin’ Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles – Pretty Petals Layered Card

Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles - Pretty Petals Layered Card Button Detail

I love to work with DSP, you all know that. I find it hard to choose which is a favourite, as they’re all so beautiful in their own unique ways, but I think this one has become one of my most used and go to papers.

Pretty Petals.

That’s the name, and that definitely is what it is!

I know some people find it hard to use DSP on a card, and in fact we had a conversation about it in my facebook group a few weeks ago. My rule of thumb is that if the pattern is pale/small/regular, then I can get away with it being a full background. If it’s detailed and ‘busy’ then I prefer to use it as small paneled sections.

And that’s pretty much what I have done here with Basic Black to offset each piece and attached to the button.

Is DSP something you find hard to use on a card?

I buy patterned paper and hardly ever use it. I do find it hard to work with and I love it.

  2. Love this Sam….you so v v inspire me to use my DSP on other things than boxes!!!! ooxx

  3. I love DSP, some of the designs are so beautiful and that is why I find it hard to work with it, I hate to chose which side will go under and also, it’s difficult for me to combine patterns like you did today.
Your card is lovely Sam, the colors go so beautifully together, you have a fabulous eye for design.
    Thank you for sharing.
