South Hill Designs & Stampin' Up! Sunday Gold Tassel Card

Today’s card is definitely one that came after the South Hill Designs locket that I created. You can tell that because of the ‘pearls’ that are inside my faux locket shape…

And you know how I know? Cos it didn’t work…. I am a firm believer in sharing things that work, but equally things that don’t work. I’m real after all, and by no means am I the perfect crafter.

I love the rest of the card, made with ribbons and punches and that beautiful Gold Glimmer paper, but I know that the White Accents haven’t worked.

I’m curious to know how you would finish off the card instead of using those.  Words? Images?

Help me! What would you do?

  1. I would put a sentiment in the circle. I would highlight the sentiment with
    (3) three of the smaller pears….or place (4) four small pearls in a row on the bottom right hand corner of the card length wise.

  2. This is a great card but the pearls inside the circle just don’t show up enough. I think using some pearls with gold around the edges would work. Failing that, I would use some gold sequins – maybe even mixed with the pearls because that would make them more visible. Nice card Pootles!

  3. How about some feathers hanging down on the side….just a thought, your lovely card reminded me of a dream catcher, luv the gold ribbon and sequins.
& snowflake stamp in the centre, project Life hello december 2015 snowflake stamps are lovely rustic/country looking 😉

Thanks for all your lovely videos, luv them!

  4. Christine Geary says:

While the White Accents are a near perfect match to the jewels in your locket and I see why you chose them I would have used the Stampin’ Up! Pearl accents instead. I think the white accents are too big for the scale of your frame piece and feel out of balance. I may CASE this to see if the pearls work. Love your projects; keep up the great work!

  5. The card mimics the locket exactly, but, I think I would’ve preferred the metal-rimmed pearls? But the rims don’t come in gold so I’m not sure they would work either. It’s still nice though.

  6. Hi Sam, I love your card and it was a great inspiration to go with the lovely locket. I would have used the circular stamp from A Whole Lot of Lovely and stamped it in marina mist and then added the pearls over the top of the flower at the bottom. This would mimic you holding the locket up to the sky to show someone. Gold and blue look good together I think.

  7. Definitely dream catcher-esq…for the centre how about replicating the circle but to the size of the locket. Making two of them so that one overlaps the other?

  8. Maybe you could turn it into a shaker card with a low profile.
Love your website and wonderful ideas.

  9. Sam….love your art. I’m thinking golden anniversary sentiment OR -for the more cutesy side of me- a crown or the word Princess inside. Also, would coloring the pearls with a gold sharpie change your opinion of the pearls in the center? Anyway, I love your projects. Thanks for sharing with all of us.

  10. A sentiment with pearls might have worked better. However, Love your projects. Thanks for sharing

  11. Maybe sequins? Little punched circles of gold glimmer with pearls on top of them? Cheers

  12. I would try dazzling details and use a couple layers on a few of them to get a 3D look. 😉
