Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Pootles - Beautiful Bag of Thanks for Helping me Grow!

Today I am trying something different. I love our pretty bags that are from the Tag a Bag set, and I use them to put goodies in more often than not, but I’ve been totally taken by all the photos on pinterest that use these as envelopes for cards.

I wouldn’t say it’s my personal style to use a bag as an envelope, but I’m all about pushing my own comfort zone a little, so I thought I’d say how it would go….

I have to say, I ended up disliking all the exterior decorating I tried with the bag cos it was obvious that the card was showing through and it looked a bit confused and jumbled, so I have basically ended up with a card in a bag….

I don’t think that’s a bad thing though, although not sure that Royal Mail would agree… Where do you put the stamp?

But I do love the card and how it’s come out. It’s not freestanding, it’s more a postcard than a greetings card, but the rather lovely Helping Me Grow stamp set in Marina Mist with Mint Macaron wording is pretty against a Sahara Sand backdrop and sponging.

So it’s not what I set out to achieve, but I had fun and that’s what’s important with crafting!

I hope you have fun today, whatever you’re doing. I’m doing DIY and learning how to do basic checks on my car…. Dad’s a great teacher!

  5. I think it’s lovely!! Don’t know how the postal service in the UK but in the US as long as it is the correct size, sealed well and no big embellishments that make it lumpy it should mail fine. I simply put the mailing addresses labels (on clear and frosted envelopes) on the back side along with correct postage stamp and it’s gone through every time. I may add a few cents extra postage just in case. I’ve been told by a few postal employees they enjoy seeing pretty mail :’)
