Pootles’ SpringWatch Hot Chocolate Slider Tutorial

Pootles' SpringWatch Hot Chocolate Slider Tutorial

How darling is this? I have to first up say a huge thank you to my lovely friend Lucy from LubyLu for sending me the hot chocolate! I’d been feeling really poorly a few weeks ago and Lucy happened to share a photo of her daughter’s rather magnificent looking hot chocolate. It was covered in cream and marshmallows and just looked divine. I commented to say that I wish I had one as I felt so ill and the next day, a lovely card came through the post with these 2 packets of hot chocolate in them! What a sweetheart!

Anyway, I decided to use them in a video as a great quick project, but also to publicly say another Thank You to my friend for making me feel much much better!

So it’s a very easy project, and I made it more ‘manly’ at the request of a couple of ladies on YouTube who’d asked if I could do some crafts for guys.

I hope you all like it, and that if you have stinking colds too, that someone is making you hot chocolate too!

My paper is 6 x 4″ (15 x 10cm) but all you need to do is make sure your paper wraps around your goodies with enough left over to stick down at the side and bottom!

  1. Glad you loved the hot chocolate – just a shame I couldn’t send it with squirty cream and marshmallows on!

Love how your blog posts pictures all the bits needed for the project, that’s really useful 🙂

  2. Anne Lumsden says:

I feel the need to send a packet to a friend! Thanks for the idea Sam.

  3. Teresa Nystrom says:

That coffee shop with the mermaid on the logo, you know which one I mean? They do packets of instant coffee that would be good inserts for this project. I will have to do this as a make and take next workshop.

    • Good idea Teresa! They would also make good thank-you gifts for you customers to pop into their parcel of purchases. Great for your Up-line, Down-lines and Teamies when they help you out over and beyond. 🙂

  4. Gloria Westerman says:

This is brilliant…would work for those long candy bars as well…thank you so much for sharing…I’m enjoying your 14 day tutorials…going to miss them…tfs

  5. bonjour, je viens de m’abonner a votre blog mais il y a longtemps que je suis fan de vos créations, elles sont a la fois simple et efficaces avec beaucoup d’élégance bravo et merci de votre partage

  6. Great idea Sam! I love your ‘quicky’ makes, especially ones containing chocolate! However, I need to design one for herbal tea bags because I can’t cope with dairy products if I’ve got a cold!
I love to take part in and to set challenges – sooo how about designing a triangular slider for a Tea-Pig teabag Sam? 😉

  7. Oh, this is just so fabulous, love how you pull your little chocolate goodies out of this bag, I’m always looking for simple and beautiful gifts to give to my grandchildren’s teachers and coaches and to my hair dresser, who knows just how I like my hair cut every time.
    Thank you for sharing, Sam.
    Big Hugs,

  8. Your slider is simply GREAT!!!
