Cherry Blossom Sheltering Tree

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Cherry Blossom Sheltering Tree

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Pootles - Cherry Blossom Sheltering Tree

Well, I’ve called this blog post ‘cherry blossom’ because that’s what I was aiming for. I’m not sure I was totally on point, but there’s a kind of look of the oriental about it. Vaguely. Somewhere….

Perhaps it’s the jaunty angle of the tree? Again, that was an attempt at getting the branches to appear as though they’re blowing in the wind. But whatever the attempt was, I’m kinda happy with this!

I went with Rose Red on the tree with a hint of Blushing Bride in the background. Then the scattering of the tiny pearls really lifted it. Until I added those, it wasn’t quite right, but with those acting as blowing petals, I think I got it a little more on track!

As you know, I like to use only one stamp set on a project if possible, so I took the greeting from the same Sheltering Tree stamp set. There are some really charming phrases in it, and I’d bypassed them in the past because all I could see was the tree!

Anyway, I hope you like it, whether cherry blossom or not!

Hi Sam – love this card. Really does look like the flowering cherry tree we have at our place – well how it looks in the spring 🙂 The combinations you put together are inspiring. Thanks

  7. Beautiful! I have this set and have used it for my winter card and my spring card! I did not think to use a pink, though…I used Gumball Green and stamped off slightly to the side after stamping it the first time on the branches for a lighter affect. I love yours! I will do the pink next time and the slightly jaunty angle for movement!
Thanks, Sam! I love your ideas!

  8. This tree is adorable!

This is very much one of my favorite stamp sets available right now. The tree and the bicycle! <3
Thank you for sharing your creation with us. I think it is very much like cherry blossoms….maybe it is the rose red and blushing bride.
