Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Pootles - Pretty Kitty - To Bow or Not To Bow No Bow

Oh this is just the most darling little kitty I’ve ever seen. Well aside from my own gorgeous Fennel that is!

I knew I wanted to watercolour her in grey, because my beautiful Fennel is a Blue Burmese, which means her fur is grey. I fancied a pink bow simply because the new Sweet Sugarplum is gorgeous.

Once I’d got it stamped up though, that’s where the fun came. To add a bow or not…. Well I posted a 15 second video showing with and without on my facebook page, in my facebook craft group and also on instagram. I got mostly people saying to add a bow, but a fair chunk said without, and a few said a smaller bow.

I couldn’t decide, so I went with all 3!

To make the small bow, I simply sliced down the length of a piece of the same ribbon and trimmed where necessary!

So which gets your vote?

    Hi Sam,
I love everything you make but on these beautiful cards, I think the 1st & 3rd are my most favorite. My husband & I have 7 kitties, all different colors so I too love the kitty & puppy stamp sets in the new catalog! Thank you for sharing. So many beautiful boxes, cards, you rock!

All the very best to you & yours,

  2. No bow

    Morning Sam
What about repeating the 3 dots above your saying. Xx

  4. Ruth Cooling says:

    No bow

  5. Marthea says:

I think I prefer the ‘no’ bow, or second choice , the smaller bow.

    Very cute

  6. Daggi Mosler says:

Hi! No bow or only the small one – the big one is just too big!

  7. Gill Lee says:

No bow gets my vote. The touch of pink on the actual image itself is enough x

  8. Judith Dee says:

Hi Sam, cute card, not sure about the bow, try a small bow in right hand corner, or in the empty space on left side. Whatever you choose I’m sure will look great.

  9. Christina Gray says:

I like all three but think the now at the bottom does it for me. The others take away from Fennel and he is the focus of the card 😉 . In the end though Sam, it’s whatever makes you happy xxx

  10. i’d go for without one but if you opt for one i’d choose the smaller version.

  11. No bow .

  12. So, I really like the card with the bigger bow. You have kitty (small) in the upper left, the enamel dots (small) in the lower right, the big bow in the middle just finishes up. The small bow is too small and it’s position on the card is off a bit.

  13. Hello Sam: I just got this set plus the doggie one plus 4 other ones that I absolutely love from this new catty and I adore them.
I like the no bow card, your design needs nothing else but the beautiful enamel dots. I also would draw a bit of a shadow under the kitty, just to kind of ground her/him, but other than that, no bow is necessary.
Thank you for always sharing your wonderful ideas and videos, lately I don’t have much free time to come here and I miss it. You definitely ROCK!!!!!
    Big Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.

It’s really cute. I like the no bow.

  15. Michelle says:

No bow. The one on the kitty is plenty and I love it!

  16. No Bow.

  17. Lori Reinholz says:

No Bow. Your focal point should be cute little kitty. Bow distracts away from kitty! 🙂

  18. Ilena Christman says:

Either the small bow, or no bow. I just love your work, Ilena.

  19. No bow. Let Fennel be the star of the card

  20. Hello Sam. My vote is small bow. Big bow competes with kitty and takes attention away from what is supposed to be the focal point. I thought no bow was too plain – it needed a little something. Small bow balances all the elements of the card nicely and pulls it all together.
Thank you for teaching me how to make boxes and bags. From following your blog, I have learned the formula to make any size box or bag. It’s really quite logical, isn’t it? Now I no longer have to spend money on products that can only make 1 or a few sizes of a box or bag. You’re so creative. I appreciate all you do.

hi sam my vot is small bow but all of your cards are amazing i love the simplicity it makes them stunning, not to much fuss, you seem to know exactly when to stop, i love watching your videos on you tube but havent been watching for ages, as ive been training for two marathons, i have a training session today im going for a half marathon today hopefully if the weather is kind, and after my bath when i get home im making a huge mug or two, of tea and putting my feet up for the rest of the day and ill be watching all of your videos in one sitting hopefully, thank you for being a great inspiration to so many of us, please keep up the good work.xxxxx

This card is adorable with or without the bow. If I had to choose my choice would either be without or with the small bow. This card is so adorable.
