Pootles Advent Countdown 2016 Quick 'n Easy Sweetie Wraps

It’s here! It’s here! That’s right, the annual Pootles Advent Countdown is back! And if you don’t know what it is, let me tell you, it’s amazing! 24 projects (because advent is 24 after all!) that will come out to you twice a week on a Monday and Friday for 12 weeks until mid December.

There will be a huge variety of projects from quick and simple (like today’s) to more complicated or timely. But there will be something for everyone and today I’ve got a quick and seasonably changeable project (that’s such a mouthful phrase!)

Because we’re still just inside September and perhaps not everyone is a Christmas fairy like me, I’ve chosen to make a simple project that you can switch around for perhaps Autumn instead of Christmas. And to be honest, sweeties are well received at any time of year aren’t they….

Mine are Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles. I can’t remember the exact strap-line they had, but it was something about trying to not chew them. An impossibility!

Anyway, these are so easy to make, it’s a little less than half of one our paper stack pages, just 3″ x 5.5″ (7.5 x 14cm) and you roll up and decorate as you like.

Pootles Advent Countdown 2016 Quick 'n Easy Sweetie Wraps enamel shapes detail

Mine that I’m showing here show the gold twine and gold enamel shapes on the more christmassy ones and then the Kraft rope and regals enamel shapes on the more autumnal ones. Isn’t it surprising how a little change in embellishment can make a lot of difference?

So have a great Monday everyone, and if anyone can remember the old fruit pastille strap-line, please put me out of my misery…

S xx

      • You know it, Sam! I look forward to your Advent Countdown series every year. I only put up a desktop tree, and I hang all your Advent Countdown stuff on it and give away everything by the time the season is over so I only clean up i need to do is to take down the tree. The triangle treat box using 3×6 paper is my favorite to hang.
