I love this card! I love everything about it. The heat embossing, the colour, the pine leaves. All of it. Oh and those random jingle bells are just too cute!

I started out by die cutting my Pretty Pines shapes – I went for one of each of the 3 sizes in both Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron. There’s something about these 2 In Colours that are so Christmassy. I love them both!

Oh and I used my Magnetic Platform (don’t forget, this is being slashed in price on Monday for the final day Flash Sale)

Once I’d got them die cut, I took my Versamark ink pad and smooshed it on the lower part of each one. It wasn’t an exact science – little is with me and card making – and then I dipped them into my pot of Silver Embossing Powder. I could have sprinkled, which I did on the first one, but it didn’t coat the tips properly, so I found that dipping was a better method!

While I had the versamark and embossing powder out though, I decided that I wanted a sort of ‘starry night’ look as a back drop, so I went with Gorgeous Grunge on Night of Navy and heat embossed that too!

I think it gets the desired starry look. I hope!

Then I just stuck each leaf down with a single mini glue dot, but used Tombow to add the silver bow. The extra dollop of glue just helped to keep it all in place. Then a trio of Jingle Bells, just because – Jingle Bells!!!

What do you think?

I love it!

I wonder how it would work with other colours or other die cut shapes??

loved your facebook comment about this technique a few days ago and went on to buy the thinlits. Will be busy later…..

  2. Sam, the Pretty Pines thinlits were one the very first things I ordered from the Holiday catalog as soon as it went live, I couldn’t wait till they got to my house and I absolutely adore them. This are one of those items you will use all the time during the holidays for many years to come.
Love this simple and yet stunning card, the Gorgeous Grunge splatters are just the perfect background for this beautiful arrangement of pine leaves and sweet jingle bells.
Awesome colors for the Holidays on this very elegant and classy card.
    Thank you for sharing.
