Watercoloured Beautiful You Team Challenge!

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Watercoloured Beautiful You Team Challenge!

Every week, on a Tuesday afternoon, I do a Live Broadcast in my team facebook group. We have about an hour where I do a training session on a specific topic, spend time answering questions, we have a recognition period where my team all do their own shout outs. We call it Toot Toot Tuesday where they toot their own horns for achieving things. A modest lot they’re not… And I love it! And every now and again, I chuck in a creative challenge. I don’t do stamping during the session, we’ve all seen the hilarious results of that, but I make sure that my team events are all inclusive for everyone, whether they’re a business demo or a hobby demo enjoying a discount for their own pleasure.

Last week we were talking of the struggle to get back to work after an extended Christmas break and the lack of mojo that comes now and again. When this happens to me I tend to stop and look at nature for inspiration but in a bleak winter, that’s not often easy to come by.

So I pulled on my old faithful challenge for the team of having them blindly grab the first 2 ink pads they come to. In my case, I have the Colour Caddy, so I literally spin it and grab 2 with my eyes shut.

My naughty team know that I cannot work in a mess and can’t cope with my craft space being messy, but they were all grabbing their ink pads during the call and I ended up pulling out all their pairs and had most of my ink pads scattered on my desk! There must have been an increasing look of anxiety across my face on the film because I ended up putting them all away while still talking! They’re naughty aren’t they getting me to mess my desk up! I’m sure I could hear some giggling….!

Anyway, they’re now sharing their creations in the group and there were some at first glance, pretty dodgy colour pairs, but you know, they did really well and have all come up with beautiful projects.

I was pretty lucky with Pacific Point and Sweet Sugarplum, although not a pair I’d instinctively go for.

A little watercolouring and some Wink of Stella on my Beautiful You stamp and I was done!

So if your mojo is lacking, I challenge you to spin your colour caddy and grab 2 colours without looking. See what you can make!

  1. Pretty color combo, even by chance! Sweet image you chose to use.

  2. I love the Beautiful You stamp set and it’s on top of my wish list for next month.
I came across some cards on Pinterest made with this set combined with the Mediterranean Moments stamp set, which arrived at my house last week, and it’s like both this sets were made for each other, there is one with the girl with the umbrella stamped on top of the image on the Mediterranean Moments where there is a narrow street with a bench and an arch, it’s just stunning.
Love your card Sam, both this colors are a perfect combination.
    Thank you for sharing.
