Christmas in the Making Watercolour Retro Card

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Christmas in the Making Watercolour Retro Card

I absolutely adore this stamp set! Those 50s kicky-up skirts and headbands are just divine. Why don’t we wear this sort of clothing anymore?! What a charming time it was!

I showed this set to my Mum when it arrived as she happened to be visiting, and she immediately loved it too!

Being born in the 70s though, I have struggled to instinctively see the colours that would look ‘right’ on the skirts and boots, but I’m sure Google will help me with that!

But I chose the girl and the cat for today’s card, mostly because I have a kitty cat!

It’s rather lovely and I just adore the font on the larger words in this sentiment. The other one in the set is divine!

So rather than colour with markers, I decided to bring out my Watercolour Pencils and play around. I’m kinda happy with the result!

I hope you like the retro 50s feel to this stamp set, it’s certainly caught my eye!

  2. Adorable card. Thank you Sam for bring back a lovely memory. My auntie had a doll just like this one, with similar coloured clothes and I adored playing with it as a child. I love receiving you posts each day. Thank you for all your amazing ideas.
