I have lots of incredibly talented craft friends, most of them are soap makers and chandlers, and like all artisans who make their own products, finding the right packaging is almost as important as finding the right ingredients for their creations.
And for those who make large quantities of products, getting the right packaging can be a full time job in itself!
One of those artisan friends is a soap maker by the name of Celine, who has a dotcom shop; I Am Handmade and she uploads videos to YouTube under the name of The Soaperstar. (Please check out her videos, they’re regular, funny and you’ll be drooling at the images!)
She wanted to know a way to make quick and easy boxes, and like all of us who retail online, storage of packing supplies can be at a premium.
So I created a box in dimensions specifically for her to house her stunning soaps, however, this is an ideal size for 3×3 notecards and envelopes.
I have plans in mind for her stunning lipbalms too!
So, for her dimensions, I cut my cardstock to 10 1/8 inches by 5 5/8 inches.
I scored on the long side at 1&1/8, 4&1/2, 5&5/8 and 9 inches.
On the shorter side, I scored at 1&1/8 and 4&1/2 inches
I needed diagonal lines in the small ‘squares’ we’d created on the cardstock, so on one of the sections, I scored diagonals in 4 sections all pointing inwards, then the 2 top ones, I scored diagonally so they were pointing inwards.
The rest you can see on the video, but here are the supplies used (please feel free to download a copy of the catalogue shown in the sidebar, or email to request a copy.)
