I love gift boxes, but I also love puzzles and combining the two made perfect sense to me!
I was originally designing a box that would hold A6 cards and envelopes, and when I’d finished the prototype with it’s pulley system of closure, I decided that this would make an ideal miniature version for holding 3×3 cards and envelopes, or little gifts and treats.
So here’s the video, you do need to watch it to get the gist of the stitching involved, but the basic box is very simple, and you could even put a belly band on it to keep it shut, or a couple of brads.
I just like the pulley system…!

The completed box has dimensions of 3.5 x 3.5 x 1 inch and needs the following cardstock and dimensions!
Cardstock measures 9.5 x 5.5 inches
score along longer length at 2,3,6.5 and 7.5 inches
score along shorter side at 1 and 4.5
Makes for a delightful box, and my children have already asked that I make ‘manly’ versions for them!
Products I’ve used on all 3 boxes shown are –
Pretty in Pink Cardstock
Island Indigo Cardstock
So Saffron Cardstock
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Sahara Sand Cardstock
Early Espresso Ink
Tea for Two Designer Series Paper
Subtles Brads
In Colours Brads

Hi, I’ve been trying to create my own soap packaging. Is there any chance you can help me with sizes/measurements for secret closure gift treat soap box for soaps with this size: 5.5cm x 10.5cm x 2cm?
Many thanks for your kindness. 🙂

Love these for craft fairs as have their own handle! Thinking could knot thread on a few beads and knot again. Thanks to you I have more boxes than jewellery and other products. I’m addicted!
