I love making things for my children. They’re all fairly crafty, albeit, the 2 year old just likes to scribble, but we’ll brush over the biro-on-the-dining-room-table incident…
But going back to the boys, I love making things for them to play with, create with, or generally just enjoy.
And loving my boys as much as we do, my husband and I do take them out with us when we go for meals etc, but we’re not perfect parents, and we don’t expect our children to be ‘perfect’ either. We do expect them however to remain at the table and not hoon around the tables upsetting all the other eaters!
So, with having 4 children, taking table distractions with me could be a cumbersome task, and really not ideal. But, seeing the Happy You Hostess stamp set, I knew immediately it was a colouring-in kind of stamp.
I simply punched 24 scallop circles, with the 1 3/4 inch punch out of whisper white cardstock, stamped each one individually with Basic Black ink, punched a hole in each and threaded them onto a hinged keyring. And of course, Jacob, my 4 year old who was the inspiration behind this, had to have a ‘J’ stamped on it in his favourite colour blue.
So, a really easy project, it could be an ideal mini favour for children at a wedding, or a grown up party. Quick and easy to make, and delightful for children of all ages. My 2 older boys have got their eyes on them, and may possibly have hinted for their own keyrings too…!
