I love our markers. There, I’ve said it.
Stampin’ Write Markers ROCK!
They are such an easy tool to work with, but create the most amazing looking projects.
This was a real labour of love, I wanted to mix up the markers, with the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set and matching punch, but then throw in a butterfly for good measures.
So, taking all 10 of the Regals Stampin’ Write Markers, I slowly an patiently coloured 2 of each of the designs on on of the ‘edging’ stamps from the set. I did miss 2 out, there were 11 ‘pairs’ but I only wanted 10. Would you have spotted that…?
I then (again, quite patiently!) coloured in the same miniature design, stamped and cleaned, coloured, stamped cleaned, coloured stamped cleaned…. Until I had the 10 colours replicated.
I knew I wanted to have the designed twisted a little, so I took it away from being ‘obviously’ from the Mosaic Madness set, ignored the matching punch completely, and decided to use the 4 petal flower from the Itty Bitty Punch pack. So despite original plans to use the punch, I ended up disregarding it completely for this project!
Finally, I took one of the butterflies from the Papillon Pot Pourri stamp set, markered that up as well, stamped it and then quickly ‘huffed’ on the stamp to re-moisten the ink, and stamped it a second time (it was a slow process to marker up, I wanted to cheat!)
Anyway, I punched the 10 flowers out, the butterfly twice, and layered the whole lot up with mini glue dots.
I love the effect. I didn’t do any ‘placement’ first, I decided to let the project flow, and the flowers seem to sit ‘just right’ for me.
I hope you like it, and for those that don’t know, the Regals Collection colours are; Always Artichoke, Garden Green, Island Indigo, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry!
