Well, this box has come about by way of international conversation and relations with the very lovely Connie Stewart from Simply Simple Stamping.
She’d spotted last week’s box video and mentioned about tweaking the measurements. I had just a few hours earlier altered them for a regular client of mine who makes boxes for her products, and then passed them back on to Connie. It was an inch versus cm thing, I think the altered measurements took out the 3/8ths and what not!
Anyway, in our conversations back and forth, Connie had pondered what to do with the left over cardstock. Not quite enough to make a second box, but hmm… what to do.
And then of course, throw in that we here in the UK have standard cardstock that measures 11.75×8.25 and the US standard is 11×8.5; shorter but fatter, we were then into a whole brand new cardstock size that would work for both our parts of the world.
11×8.25…. I think we ought to rename it as a standard size for both markets. A Cootle or a Ponnie?
So, back to the box, well, it was one of those maths things that wasn’t going to defeat us, and working at funny hours of the day and night, it was a labour of love, but Ta Da!
2 boxes, from one sheet of cardstock that meets both our cardstock needs!
AND, the finished boxes BOTH measure 3x3x1″ (7.5×7.5×2.5cm)
I hope you like it, and although I said it a few times in the video, Connie, it was a true pleasure working this through with you, my new friend across the pond.
