I made this card a good few weeks ago, on a grey day that had flashes of sunshine desperately trying to get through the clouds.
Being one of those who is often inspired by the world literally on my doorstep, I decided to make a card that showed a flash of colour trying to come through the clouds. And this was it.
I had spotted the card image in the catalogue that showcased this Hello Lovely Stamp Set, and while I loved it, I knew it would be a lot of work with the Stamp A Ma Jig, and you all know me, I’m a fast/lazy/quick crafter, and decided to step it up a little.
So, I used Versamark ink and White Embossing Powder on the Basic Grey cardstock and Smoky Slate Ink on the Whisper White cardstock. But with the yellow, this was a little more complicated. I stamped first into my versamark, then immediately into Daffodil Delight Ink and stamped that. Then I basically had a yellow but sticky image. I flicked on some clear embossing powder, and got myself this gorgeous bright and shiny image.
After that, it was a case of punching out all the images using the 1″ square punch.
That’s where the fun started, I’d layered up my mats of Whisper White and Daffodil Delight cardstock, but it was fun and games placing all the squares with their dimensionals. There was no room for error… Firstly I placed them roughly in position, then just had to hit and hope…. Most are lined up okay!
So, I hope you like this, and can take inspiration of the sunshine yellow on a grey day!
