Well, I’ve never professed to being any good at the Vintage look on projects. I can age things and make them look a little battered, but being a huge fan of pinterest, I’ve much admired the amazing Vintage style cards and creations that people come up with.
I desperately wanted to have a go, and I’m sticking my head way above the parapet here and asking for honest opinions.
I don’t think it’s my greatest work ever, but you know, sometimes we have to share the not-so-great-stuff to get some feedback and to help improve. Otherwise it’s just an ego overload isn’t it?
So baring my soul and sharing my work, this is what I came up with.
I made a cardblank of Naturals White Cardstock and scrawped the edges with the Stampin’ Distress Too.. I then ran some Chocolate Chip Core’dinations Cardstock through the Big Shot in the Pretty Print Embossing Folder and rubbed it back with the sanding system before distressing it’s edges too.
Then I took out my Dictionary background stamp and stamped it using Chocolate Chip ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and distressed the edges of that too (can you tell I was a little distressed!)
Finally, I stamped the gorgeous Lovely Romance main stamp in Chocolate Chip ink onto some more Naturals White Cardstock and cut it out using the Chalk Talk Framelits. As you can see, it has a matching distressed layer of Chocolate Chip Core’dinations, so I fussy cut around the stamped sentiment to get a layered look.
Oh, and nearly forgot, I fiddled about with a bit of Crochet Trim for ages; turning knots, tying bows etc, before I ended up with a double layered knot.
I remain unconvinced by this, and I would love to hear your honest opinions.
