Oh I do love a bit of vellum. I’ve been using it for more than 10 years, and even now, when I talk about crafting, my husband always brings up the word ‘vellum’. I suspect he thinks he sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. We won’t even go there with ‘glimmer paper’….
But I know that some people find the thought of working with vellum as a little scary. It’s obviously transparent, so sticking it to your project without glue showing can be problematic.
Bring on the brad I say!
And you know, it’s beautiful to stamp on, you get a super crisp image, and it just softens down even day-glo bright colours!
So this is my mini showcase of Bermuda Bay ink and cardstock, stamped 3 times (going paler each time) onto vellum with the Mixed Bunch stamp set, punched 3 times using the Blossom Punch, then curled and anchored using a Bermuda Bay candy dot onto it’s matching brad base.
You can see how I’ve layered the card, it’s a 3×3 using Bermuda Bay cardstock with a layer of Whisper White and another of Bermuda Bay, with the same Whisper White inside. I’ve rounded only two corners, the opposing ones, and of course, a pretty card like this needs a stamped image inside it too!
I hope you like how I’ve showcased vellum today, and that actually, it needn’t be scary!
Today’s question is…. is there something in your craft stash that you really want to work with, but not too sure how to use it? I would have said Coaster Board for myself up until about 12 hours ago, but I suddenly had a lightbulb moment and used it in a project that will be coming out in a few weeks. But I had struggled previously!
