Ooooo, I have struggled to use the I Am Me designer series paper. Not because I don’t like it, and not because I dislike the colours, but really just because I haven’t yet found the ‘perfect’ use for it. Sometimes you see a DSP and cannot see beyond the obvious. This one just looks ‘holiday’ to me, and I have had to work harder than normal to look inside the paper and see the potential.
However, I’m really glad I did. Okay, so I did take the safe option of using a single colour background. Is that cheating?
Oh, I don’t mind! I used it….
Stop shaking your heads at me and telling me I’m cheating! I promise I’ll use it again. Soon. Ish…
Anyway, back to the card!
Simply this is a Whisper White card blank with a layer of I Am Me designer series paper and then a further square of Whisper White Cardstock. However, I decided to clash the zig zag design with some polka dots from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set, popping one out in Calypso Coral, then I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Basic Grey and gently edged it with the Calypso Coral Marker. And of course, I had to use the Hexagon Punch that is currently on a bundle offer with the stamp set.
I like the flash of colour, and I like that I braved a paper that I’ve struggled with. I think I need to learn to love the paper a little bit more.
