Well, who’d have thought. Multicoloured Glimmer Paper! Made by ME!!!
Yes, me. That’s right. Little old me in a tiny village in North Wales, the creator of glimmery glittery shimmery paper in all different colours.
Okay, I confess, I coloured our Silver Glimmer Paper with Stampin’ Write Markers.
Is that cheating?
Who knows? Who cares? It’s just gorgeous!
I didn’t really know where I was heading when I started colouring the glimmer paper, but as I brought out more and more colours, I could see a rainbow coming along, and a few years ago now, on my eldest son’s 5th birthday, he’d asked for a Rainbow Theme. We had rainbows everywhere; table cover, plates, food, jellies, you name it. And, I’d made him a big bunch of helium balloons to attach to a basket that I’d filled with prizes for the party games.
And as you know, my mind does tend to wander off in random directions, so the two seemed to merge in my head, and this was the outcome!
I did stamp the ‘Let’s Celebrate’ from the Make a Wish set, but I used markers for this too, as I didn’t want to include the candles that are part of the image, but otherwise, here’s my recipe!
Basic Black Card Blank, Silver Glimmer Mat, Whisper White Layer, and I used the following colours for the balloons (which I attached with Whisper White baker’s twice) – Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo.
A word of caution, you can’t use an ink pad to colour glimmer, it just smothers your ink pad in glitter. *gazes fondly at now deceased Real Red Classic Ink Pad*
So I hope you like it, I’ve no idea who I’m going to give this to. Perhaps one of my downline? Perhaps one of you?
If you’d like this card, please let me know. You don’t need to give me a reason why, I’ll just randomly draw someone’s name from a hat!
