Stampin’ Up! UK Embossed Regarding Dahlias
So after a couple of attempts at the ‘vintage’ style card, I’ve decided I’m best sticking to my strengths. Simple and hopefully stylish!
I love this stamp set. It’s relatively new to me, but having seen lots of other blogs and pins and the like, I knew I had to have it, and I really am very happy.
I decided though, that I wouldn’t do a ‘colour’ (apart from anything, unless I break out google, I wouldn’t know what colour a Dahlia is meant to be…!), but I would heat emboss a black dahlia onto Soft Suede cardstock and see where it took me.
I was a little ‘heavy’ with the embossing buddy, but it seems to add to the suede effect look of the Soft Suede cardstock, and the accident has turned out rather effectively I think!
So after that, I simply stamped the dahlia off to one side and corner using Versamark, heat embossed it using basic black embossing powder and then layered it onto Basic Black cardstock.
Once I’d done that, I decided to match the heat embossing and chose the ‘Hi’ from the same set, and punched it out using the 1″ Square Punch and mounted it over a Basic Black punch using the Ticket Builder Punch. After that, it was just a case of taking a trio of the tiniest Basics Pearls to offset the whole look.
I absolutely love this card, and I’ve been thrusting it into people’s faces since I made it.
And I adore Regarding Dahlias. Do you have this stamp set yet? If not, get it bought now! I have plans for so many cards using this…!
