Stampin’ Up! UK Multicoloured Mixed Bunch
I absolutely adore our Markers. I was very much a child who would love to colour things in, but they had to be geometric patterns. My earliest memory is as a 6 year old going into hospital to have my tonsils taken out, and because my stay was longer than average because of ‘issues’ in my throat, Mum and Dad treated me to a good supply of books that had the most amazing geometric designs.
I would spend ages making sure everything was symmetrically correct, that the colours ‘toned’ nicely or ‘clashed’ beautifully.
Perhaps my colour coordination goes way back to childhood?
But back to this card. I’d had this planned in my head for quite a long time, but with the way my head works, I sometimes have to put off ‘not urgent’ crafting and wait on it a while.
However, time allowed last week, when I gave myself a whole evening of pure unadulterated crafting. The kind that’s ‘just for fun’ and with no recipient in mind!
Well, out came the markers, out came the stamp and away I went!
Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve managed to capture the 6 different colours on camera very well, I’m no David Bailey, but you can get an idea of the differences.
I used Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Raspberry Ripple, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Rose Red.
It wasn’t a slow process, but a very gentle and rhythmic process of markering, rotating, markering, rotating.
I may next time do more obvious colour differences.
After completing this, I simply punched it out using the Blossom Punch, popped it onto a 2.75″ square of Whisper White, popped everything up on dimensionals onto a 3×3 card blank, embellished with a tiny Rhinestone, and I was done!
I do hope you like it, and that you get out your markers too!
