Stampin’ Up! UK Extra Large Inspired Hearts
So as you know, I tend to be inspired by a lot of the world around me; the physical things around me, aswell as the mood and atmosphere.
And like the card that was inspired by a toy in Oliver’s bedroom a few weeks ago, this card was also inspired by a decoration in his room.
I remember very clearly buying this for his room. I was 7 months pregnant, and was holidaying in Cumbria with my husband and 3 other children, and my parents. They’d taken the boys out for the day, and Chris and I went to a lovely little town and just browsed and wandered around.
This ornament was just hanging in the window and I knew I had to have it. I love it. It just hangs off a nail on his wall. Nothing near it, nothing to fight it for attention, it’s just there.
And again, while in his room bedding him down for the night, I took another look around to see where else I could be inspired.
Well, the card that has come about is larger than I usually make. It’s a full sheet of Naturals White cardstock folded in half and then a secondary layer added on the top.
The reason it’s such a big card is because I wanted to use the Full Heart Punch which is a brilliant size, but wanting to put 5 on to the card would have been a bit of a challenge with the more usual size of card…
So all I did was punch 5 out using the matching cardstock, sponged the edges with Sahara Sand ink and attached some Linen Thread to the back of each with a little tape. Then, after tying them all in a knot, I laid them out, popped them up on dimensionals, some were double mounted, and then tied a pretty Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon bow for the top!
Sentiments not needed, the hearts say it all, don’t you think?
And you know me, I’m a punch girl, but I do believe this may be the first time I’ve shown you all this great punch, although it’s certainly been used by me before!
I hope you like it, and the bit of inspiration that brought it about. I’ve given it to my husband. Those 5 hearts represent the love of our 4 sons, and me.
