Stampin’ Up! UK Envelope Punch Board Week – Sewing Style Box
Well, this is the first of the 7 tutorials going live on YouTube this week, and I’m very excited about it.
Strangely, I filmed it last, but at the point of filming, I felt this was the diminutive, but showstopping first project to show you that small needn’t be insignificant!
As you know, the online class registration is now open, and if you’ve already pre registered, you should now have received an email with the link to the Class page and the password log in details. If you haven’t yet registered for this class, please do click here to read all about what the class has!
I’m really excited about this week long video-fest. It was an entirely spur of the moment thing, based on an evening last Saturday when I was playing about with the Envelope Punch Board, and I had light-bulb moment after light-bulb moment with it (as the gang over in the Pootles Craft Forum will attest to!).
After that, there was nothing stopping me, and when I had 5 projects in hand the next day, I jokingly said I should see how many I could make. When I got to 10, the same evening, I again, jokingly said I ought to start an Envelope Punch Board week. Well, I have been totally bowled over by everyone in the Pootles Group, and also those on my facebook page who were fully in support of this idea!
But I didn’t stop at 10, sometimes the creative juices are flowing so fast, you just can’t stop. Although I did decide a dozen was plenty to get you started….!
I would also at this point in time, like to dedicate Envelope Punch Board week to the 60+ sheets of 12×12 cardstock and paper that gave themselves up in the name of creativity. That scrapper cardstock was a total blessing…
So I give you today’s project.
This to me, as I was experimenting and building, began to fold itself into place, and as I was snipping bits off the various prototypes, it struck me that it looked like my late Nanna’s sewing box. My Mum had it, possibly still does, and it was that wonderful design that two fold out lid sections and then a cantilever inner section. Mine is kind of the reverse, but those tiny button brads from the Vintage Trinkets set were perfect.
I hope you like this one, and to view the video, clickety click here!
Oh, and dimensions?
Well, as I state on the video, although I give you both metric and imperial dimensions of the paper, you then only need to look for the more visible white numbers to follow along.
Cardstock – 6×6″ (15x15cm)
Line your paper up at 1 3/4 punch and score
slide your paper to 3 1/8 punch and score
slide your paper to 4 1/2 punch and score.
ROTATE YOUR PAPER
now simply line up your previously scored lines with the handy built in score guide, punch and score.
Repeat this on all remaining sides.
For the rest of the instructions, do go back and look at the video again
