Stampin’ Up! UK Emboss Resist Seasonal Christmas
Oooo, it’s back to some cards now that Envelope Punch Board Week is over. Are you sad? Yes, a little? Me too. But don’t be too sad, as while EPB Week is done, I have got so many more projects and cards, and treats, and things and, and, and, well, loads to show you!
This card, I love it. I love the emboss resist technique, and while I haven’t particularly used the ‘corporate’ colours from the Winter Frost pack in my non-winter-frost cards, I decided to have a little play with Pool Party ink and see what I came up with.
And while yes we do have a Pool Party embossing powder, the only part that is embossed is that amazing central design (from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set) and the rest is a soft and layered sponged effect using Pool Party.
I simply inked the design using Versamark ink, heat embossed using clear embossing powder, then took a sponge and very slowly rubbed over the design, starting from the outside, and working my way in.
I loved it, and decided that this would be the focus of the card, but having it simply layered across Pool Party and Whisper White cardstock wouldn’t be enough. So I set it to a back drop of Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon, added a trio of Rhinestone Crystals, and lifted the layers up onto dimensionals.
Then, a smattering of the smallest snowflakes from the Festive Flurry stamp set, in Pool Party, set with Rhinestones, and lifted onto a Pool Party card blank was the perfect background.
I love both of these stamps, I love how they layer and look. And I most definitely love the Emboss Resist Technique!
This week’s Hostess Code for week ending Sunday is WR92XKQD and you could win all the hostess £££s that accumulate during the week! One winner will be named at random
