Stampin’ Up! UK Convention Card Candy Swaps & Video
Well, at long last, I’ve had some time to myself to digest everything that happened at convention. I really don’t have very many photographs, and in fact, don’t have any that I can share because away from my close up photography that I do for here, I’m a really quite rubbish photographer. However, I’m hoping that my downlines who came to convention with me who did take photos will share them with me.
But I do have a video of all the swaps that I brought home with me. It is a 20 minute video, but I loved going through them all.
It was an honour and pleasure to meet so many demos, many of whom I chat to on a daily basis by email or on facebook, and so many from our other European markets!
Convention is an experience like no other.
From Thursday afternoon through until Saturday afternoon there was barely time to stop with Meet and Greet and Make and Take the first night, swaps, drinks with other members of our bigger team. Then Friday kicked off very early with an opening ceremony of dancers and Sara Douglass (Shelli Gardner’s daughter) opening it and welcoming us all.
We had creative showcased masterclasses, on stage demonstrations, WOW workshops from other demonstrators sharing their use of just a couple of products.
We were treated to sneaky peeks at forth coming products (some coming sooner than others, watch this space for new stuff arriving December 1st!), and a load of information about figures, sales, promotions and more.
Friday night was the awards night, and while I’m too new to have achieved any awards (6 months at the time of the end of the Stampin’ Up! Year), I was ridiculously proud to see my own upline Michelle walk away with the number 1 spot for Recruiting, Sales and Leadership! Someone to aspire to!
And in amongst all the workshops and events, 10 demonstrators within our team got together to exchange ‘Card Candy’ swaps, which is what I’m showing you here.
We each selected a stamp set to work with, then created what are known in the UK as ‘toppers’ for cards. The element that you put onto a card if you don’t wish to freehand stamp.
I used the Occasions Alphabet stamp set, and used various punches, designer series papers, embellishments, cardstock and inks.
What do you think?!
Anyway, that’s it for now, I do plan to get to convention next year, it’s in Brussels, and with 33 in my direct team and over 40 in my downline, I hope that many of them will make it too, and if you’re thinking of joining Stampin’ Up! I’d love for you to come along with me and my Pootlers too!
Making these was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I do plan to make more in the future!
This week’s Hostess Code for week ending Sunday is DEUYV6RJ and you could win all the hostess £££s that accumulate during the week! One winner will be named at random
