Stampin’ Up! UK Around the World Stampin Up Challenge AW09
I am loving this sketch!
This is the first time I’ve actually worked with a designated sketch, and it’s kind of exciting! Mostly I tend to just do my own thing when making cards, but to have to ‘stick’ to a design was pretty fun! And you know, I think these are brilliant for those who get a touch of crafter’s block, and having had a sneaky peek of the rest of the Design Team’s projects, it’s amazing how one small sketch can look so different!
And mine is in my usual style, simple and plain, but I decided to take it a step further and (attempt!) the witty by using the colours in the sketch too! Ha, did that one pass you by? *watches tumbleweeds…*
And the make of it is pretty easy too. A card blank of Basic Grey, a layer of Smoky Slate, a strip of a new paper coming into the Spring/Summer catalogue at the end of January, a strip of Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon was the border. I decided to pull one of the Free Stamps coming during the awesome Sale A Bration promotion that’s starting January 28th, and coloured it using Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight.
But it needed a bit more, so instead of one layer with the sketch’s designated shape, I used two! One from the Labels Framelits collection, and the slightly larger one is from the Thinlits Label Card Dies set.
And the little twine ribbon? Crushed Curry, pinched from the Tag a Bag kit and over a new metal button, also coming soon!
I love it!
