Stampin’ Up! UK Hello Lovely Embosslit Butterflies!
Easy crafting. That’s my motto. Demystifying crafting, and taking the scariness out of it. Also a motto….!
And for me, if I can whip up a card in a few minutes, then I’m a happy crafter!
This card was all about mixing up 2 stunning colours; Wisteria Wonder (the colour I fell in love with before I joined Stampin’ Up!) and Coastal Cabana, one of our new In Colours for 2013-2015.
I love the ribbons, the colours, the cardstock and the ink!
So I wanted to bring a little Spring into the dullness of grey North Wales, and butterflies seemed to fit. But not just any butterflies, these are our Beautiful Wings Embosslits, and it’s the coolest thing ever!
A small hinged ‘die’ that you pop your piece of cardstock into, run it through your Big Shot die cutting machine, and it not only cuts the shape, but embosses it at the same time! Genius, right?!
And I decided to keep the card simple by taking two pieces of cardstock in my gorgeous selected colours, running them through the embosslit once each to get the mix of shapes and colours.
I decided not to bend their wings to create ‘lift’ because the beautiful embossed detail was enough and I didn’t want to detract from that, but a couple of strips of ribbon – Chevron Ribbon in the case of Wisteria Wonder, and Ruffle Trim for the Coastal Cabana, and that seemed to be enough as far as detail went.
But the sentiment. Well, it had to be the signature stamp from the Hello Lovely stamp set, but again, I wanted to bring in the two colours, so I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to dual colour, stamped it onto Whisper White cardstock, punched using the matching Decorative Label Punch, and then backed it with a little Coastal Cabana cardstock that I punched using the Label Bracket Punch.
All mounted up onto a Wisteria Wonder card blank.
I love it. And as of now, I’m really not sure who to send this to, so, if you’d like this card, please let me know how you banish the Wintery Grey feelings, and bring a little Spring into your life.
I’ll pick someone at random, anywhere in the world, and pop this card in the post to you!
You have until Monday!
