Stampin’ Up! UK Serene Silhouettes Make a Wish
Today I made a Wish. I wished that I would see sunlight peeking through the clouds, or perhaps a little snow in the air.
Something to break up the monotony of the grey, the chill, the spatters of rain, and the general dullness of the season we’re in up here in North Wales.
My wish came true. The sun peeped out from behind the clouds, and while there weren’t quite dandelion clocks letting their seeds fly, it did look through the window as though there was a little warmth on the horizon.
And although I had made this card some time ago, I’d popped it to one side so that I could pull it out at just the right time to showcase it.
It was as ever, a super simple build.
I used Smoky Slate cardstock for the base, and Whisper White cardstock for the mat. I rounded the corners of both with our Corner Rounder Punch, and then sponged the edges of the White Layer with Wild Wasabi ink.
I love this colour, it’s not too dull, not too bright, and not too ‘there’ and in your face! I think it’s often overlooked, and that’s a shame, as it’s a gentle colour that has a little ‘oomph’ behind it!
I used the Stampin’ Write marker in this colour, and Smokey Slate to ink up the Sentiment from the Make a Wish stamp set, and decided to bring out my Labels Framelits. But I wanted a super dooper tight edge to get the Silver Lining to my ‘cloud’ shape, and so I used the matching framelit from the Labels Thinlits Card Dies set to do this. Using silver foil card of course!
However, on first glance, my dandelion looks like it has also been stamped using a two colour marker combination, but it actually hasn’t. The Summer Silhouettes stamp set is a two-step stamp system. You choose your stem and choose your flower head, then use your Stamp a Ma Jig placement tool to make sure that your stamps are perfectly placed!
This tool is a wonder when you’re a wibbly stamper like me….!
Finally, I took the floating seed and stamped it using versamark and heat embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder.
Get me, stamping straight onto cardstock! I’m getting braver and braver….!
I hope you like this card, simple and fun, and answering a wish for clear skies!
I hope you enjoyed this project, please do use the hostess code to support Pootles! (hostess code shown in the top right of my blog for the current one!)
