I love the Happenings Simply Created Card Kit from the new Spring Catalogue. I’ve bought 5 of the sets and only have 1 left…. They’re a great quick card, and a really useful way for someone to get to know Stampin’ Up! quality aswell as being a great way to get an idea of how to set up a card.

Now, in the catalogue, the set is paired with the Says It All stamp set, but as you can see, I used it with the Peachy Keen stamp set. And of course, I mixed up the colours, pulling in those in the background – Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz and Smoky Slate.

I love them!

However, like many crafters, I take inspiration from things around me. Not just the things in my home, or that I can see from outside my windows, but from cards either I’ve made, or those I want to make….

And this is what happened! I used the High Tide dsp as the background, stamped a Real Red dahlia from the Regarding Dahlias stamp set, which I then punched using the super sized 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I loved the circular design, so decided to take the sentiment from the same set, stamped also in Real Red and punched using the 1 1/4″ Circle and mounted over a 1 3/8″ Smoky Slate Circle. All resting on top of some gorgeous Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon which for some reason, I haven’t picked up since Christmas…. And of course. The button! Well, we have a set of Basic Metal Buttons that have hit the catalogue, so I had to whip out one of those!

But I felt it needed that little extra something that the glitter brings to the Happenings Kit, so I decided to dab some Crystal Effects onto a few of the dahlia petals. It did take all night to dry down properly, but I love this effect! So pretty!

So did I do good? I like it!
