Stampin’ Up! UK Polka Dot Pieces Thank You Cards
I love nothing more than to send cards. I used to be pretty bad at it, but the more I send, the more I love knowing that it’s a suprise card that has arrived in the post, and that hopefully I’ve brightened someone’s day.
But equally, I love to try and keep my designs simple yet stunning.
The cards here today grew out of an overflowing number of the largest Buttons in our Button Packs and very few tiny ones (those that I use more than any).
I sort of wanted to ‘use them up’ but not just for the sake of it.
So with button in hand, I stood by my stamp sets and pondered how I could use them and showcase them in the best possible way. And then the idea started to form.
I remembered the gorgeous spottiness of the Polka Dot Pieces stamp set, and decided that those spots would work well with the buttons.
I think they did!
Our button collections have 6 of the 10 colours, and it seemed that Subtles were where I had the excess, so I decided that this was the colourway to go!
Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Soft Sky.
The flowers are hand stamped in the same ink, and punched using the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle and 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle punches. But I grabbed the DSP stacks in the same colours to punch out the main part of the bird using the Bird Builder Punch, although the wing is also hand stamped. And of course, the branch was punched using Wild Wasabi cardstock, also a Subtles colour.
Finally, I popped a tiny Basics Pearl on each Bird’s eye and stamped the Thank You from the Four You stamp set directly onto the card. How brave? I even did it without the Stamp a Ma Jig!
So hopefully, the people who will be receiving one of the 30 cards that I made will have a happier day that day!
