A Grunge Inspired Birthday?
On my birthday last month, I spent a couple of days seemingly eating non stop. Meals out, birthday cake, family visiting, more meals out, and so it went on.
But my husband took me to an amazing restaurant on my actual birthday itself. We went to a beautiful little town that I lived in when I first moved to North Wales as a 14 year old. And the restaurant? Well, I can only describe it as unique. A restaurant with bedrooms is how they describe it, but it’s so much more than that. There was a private cinema underground, small rooms to recline in, and the whole restaurant was an art gallery!
There was artwork everywhere of every type and style, but one piece caught my eye. It was strands of wollen yarn in rainbow colours (and rainbow order!) that had been suspended between two pieces of perspex. They were randomly placed, no uniformity at all. I couldn’t take my eyes off it (I apologise to the poor couple sitting below it who probably wondered why I kept sneaking looks in their direction…)
And it inspired this card.
Of course, it’s neither yarn, nor between perspex, but the idea is there.
I simply stamped all 10 of the Brights Collection inks using the straight lines from Gorgeous Grunge.
But the word Inspire? Could only be that, and it came from Loving Thoughts. The first stamp set I bought after joining Stampin’ Up!
I hope you like my simplistic card born out of inspiration on my birthday.
