Smokey Slush with a Splash of Butterfly!
Oooo, I do love my DSP! I made this card before I went on holiday, but having only got home a couple of days ago, I have only just taken the photographs.
But, I have actually ended up CASEing myself (CASE = Copy and Share Everywhere), and I made 48 cards based on this as thank you cards for my customers.
6 brand new colourways, you can find them over on my Facebook Page where there is a mini giveaway on until Friday. All 6 colourways are pictured there, and you simply leave a comment under the one you like the best, and I will pick a winner at random for each of the 6 colours. And yes, this is global!!!
Anyway, back to my original card here.
It’s a card base of Smoky Slate which I sponged the edges with Smoky Slate ink, with a layer of Whisper White, also sponged. Then a further layer of Smoky Slate, again sponged, and finally a layer of Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper, again, sponged!
I took my lovely Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and stamped the small speckles in Basic Grey, the small ‘splat’ with Smoky Slate and the large ‘splat’ with Strawberry Slush ink. I love how that looks, particularly as the spotty DSP has white spots, and they turned the ink colour!
I love the DSP, so I took some Strawberry Slush and punched it using the Decorative Label Punch and sponged that. But rather than having a sentiment, I decided to punch a Large Oval in whisper white (again, sponging going on!) and topped it with a sponged Smoky Slate Bitty Butterfly that has a trio of tiny Basics Pearls on it. I also added a tiny strip of Strawberry Slush Stretched Ruffle Trim to make a sort of ‘skirt’. It looks so cute!!!
I do love my flowers though, so I used the Boho Blossoms Punch for the Smoky Slate flowers (all sponge tipped) and the Itty Bitty Shapes for the Strawberry Slush ones, and finished those off with pearls too.
It was a time consuming card to make, with all that sponging going on, so I did take a couple of steps out when I was mass producing the 48 cards, but they’re still as beautiful!!!
I hope you like this card, and for those 42 lovely customers and 6 lucky winners who will receive one of those ones, I hope you like them too!
