Stampin’ up! UK Demonstrator Pootles – An Element of Hopeful Thoughts.
I rather adore the Hopeful Thoughts stamp set, I’ve used it on many an occasion, but one of my downline, Linda Parker has recently been doing some very beautiful work using it for wedding favours, and she has been doing the tone-on-tone look which is just stunning.
So she was my inspiration for today’s card, but I decided to use my beautiful favourite Subtles Collection colour of Wisteria Wonder.
I’m often asked what size cards I make, and I always do the same size – a sheet of cardstock cut in half, then folded in half. It doesn’t matter if it’s A4 or 8 ½ by 11, the cut and fold would be the same.
My layering is done by taking a further piece of cardstock that’s 1/2cm (1/4”) shorter and narrower than the base, and then further layers are done the same way.
In this case, I have a card blank of Wisteria Wonder, a Mat of Whisper White which was sponged with Wisteria Wonder and then a further Layer of Wisteria Wonder which is what I stamped with the Hopeful Thoughts stamp set in the same colour.
But I wanted to select elements to punch also, so I used Stampin’ Write Markers in Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi to colour up the stamp and then using my 1” Square Punch I punched 3 ‘bunches’ of flowers, and then backed them with 3 Postage Label Punch outs of Wisteria Wonder, finishing with the sentiment taken from my favourite thank you stamp set Lots of Thanks.
I love the finished look of this, and again, a big thank you to Linda for her inspiring idea.
