Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Cards
I will be very honest here and let you know that I’m not a scrapbooker. I remember scrapbooks of the 70s and 80s being that huge A3 size and had those weird multicoloured sheets of flimsy card that you stuck sweet wrappers and cinema tickets into. The ones that you started on holiday with the greatest faith and ended up binning because it hadn’t occurred to you to wipe off the ice cream lolly stick first…
So when Project Life by Stampin’ Up! hit the catalogue, I was a little dubious. I have invested in the whole selphy-therefore-print-pictures-easily thing, but the reality is that it’s still sitting unusued.
But, when I was out in the US at convention, Becky Higgins, the founder of Project Life, took to the stage with Shelli Gardner and her one recommendation for anyone wanting to buy something from Project Life was the Love Story collection. She pointed out that it wasn’t necessarily for couples or newly weds or anything like that, and she showcased some great layouts of her children.
Now still being a reluctant scrapper, I didn’t buy the full card collection, but the Accessory Pack instead.
I am a card maker deep down, so I decided to see what I could come up with by only using the contents of the kit and some card blanks. These are standard half sheets of card folded in half, and with not too much stress on the old creative brain, I whizzed up these 8 cards in about 35 minutes, and still have loads of stickers left over.
They’re not exactly my ‘style’ particularly, but this exercise was more about seeing if you could use the Project Life kits for something other than scrapbooking. I think you can….
