Pootles Stampin’ Up! European Convention Swaps
Well for the last couple of days, I’ve been out in Brussels in Belgium enjoying the Stampin’ Up! European Convention. Of course, I’ve actually written this ahead of time as I like to make sure that you all continue to get a project every day, but I will probably have been sharing photos and updates on my facebook page, so do head over there to find out what’s been happening (link on the right!)
But this is the swap I made to take with me.
That’s one of the greatest parts of being at a Stampin’ Up! event. Other than hundreds of other demonstrators of course! The idea is that you take a number of projects with you and swap them with another person. So you take say 50 identical card fronts and come home with 50 different ones!
Normally I make a 3D project, but because I have flown out there and baggage is an issue with things getting crushed, I decided to go with a card instead.
And what do you think?
It’s quite ‘me’ don’t you think?
I made a base of Smoky Slate and then a double layer of Whisper White. For my swaps I changed that up to be Naturals White, but only because I was low on the WW!!!
I triple stamped off the Work of Art image in Smoky Slate to get the 3 toned colour effect, then double stamped off the ‘scatter’ image from Gorgeous Grunge, also in Smoky Slate
I wanted to keep the pop of Blushing Bride to a minimum so when it came to stamping and punching the flowers with the matching Stamp and Punch set Petite Petals, I kept to the Smoky Slate, and again, kept that in for the backdrop to the sentiment (punched with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch)
And then there’s that little hint of Blushing Bride. The gorgeous Baker’s Twine is perfect for this and the sentiment is of course from Work of Art and I felt it was just right for a group of crafters! Oh, and it’s punched with the Label Bracket Punch.
Finally, Basics Pearls on the flowers and a trio scattered on the sentiment.
Done!
I am really happy with this, and I do hope that my swappees (swappers?) like it too!
