Pootles Soft Subtle Cards using Stampin’ Up! Serene Silhouettes
Well today I’m sharing a couple of cards that are identical but the colours.
Let me explain….
I had spotted a set of small candle holders while on one of my wanders around the internet and absolutely loved the look of them.
Knowing I had the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set handy I set about stamping. However, I felt that 4 wasn’t quite right (you know how much I like to work in odd numbers), but 5 didn’t look right at all. I ended up with 6 which I then cut out using the 3rd smallest circle from the Circles Framelits collection. But that’s where it went downhill…
You see, I had this idea in my head, but hadn’t really sized it all up. When I placed the 6 down they just looked daft. There were too many for the card, yet still, the combinations of 4 or 5 still wasn’t working either.
In the end, I grabbed some trusty Linen Thread, twisted some up, stuck it down and decided to see where that led me…. Well, it led me into the Citrus Zone of the right hand card, and the Pastel Zone of the Left!
I love how they’ve ended up, even though it was fun and games to start with. And although it is Whisper White cardstock that I used to stamp on, I decided that Naturals White cardstock was the best card base for them.
Now, tell me I’m not the only person who’s ideas don’t always come to fruition on a card…
