Chalkboard Card Technique using Stampin’ Up! Something Lacy
I was having a good look at all my stamps recently and found that there are some that I immediately grab and use and others that not so much slip under the radar, but that I think “I’ll use those on such and such a project” and then the project never quite comes to fruition.
The Something Lacy stamp set is a bit like that. And so is the Chalkboard Paper and the Chalkboard Inks. I sort of had a project in mind for them, but to date, haven’t actually made it. But then at the Leadership event in Florida recently, I had a chance to do a spot of stamping with the inks onto the paper and decided when I got home that I was just going to go for it.
But I wanted to do something different. You know me well enough by now that I try to do the unusual and so I made a bridal card in black!
Not the most obvious colour choice, but I love how it has turned out!
I have used the Rose Coral Colorbox Ink on it, but sadly, I’m not a photographer, so couldn’t quite get the colour to show. It’s extremely subtle. A little like one of those off white paints that offers a whiff of a colour, but not starkly white.
Yup, like that….!
So what do you think?
I also used the Your Perfect Day stamp set on it with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle to punch and the 1″ Circle for the sentiment.
I’m happy with how it turned out, and for my first proper use of the chalkboard paper and ink, it’s not too shabby!
