Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Handpicked Easter Buckets From The Garden
Oh oh oh, how adorable are these?
Just the cutest thing ever!
I knew exactly what project I wanted to do the very second I saw the fab new Bundle that is the From The Garden stamp set and matching Handpicked Framelits in the Spring Catalogue.
To me, these just shouted out mini Easter baskets to me.
Now I could have been a clever cookie and made a bucket, but I wanted the project to be about the prettiness of the shape of these and the wording, so I decided to buy some mini buckets from Amazon (there are thousands of options out there – clearly these make great party favours!) Mine measure 3″ (7.5cm) in height and at the widest point, and are 2″ (5cm) at the base
I used 4 colours for the stamping, Baked Brown Sugar, Pink Piroutte, Wild Wasabi and So Saffron. I had the bag of mini eggs open in front of me, but pictured these in a garden on an easter egg hunt, so they were the deciding factor in the colours and I love how they look!
However, using Whisper White as a ‘pick’ to go inside a bucket risks squished tips, so I decided to ‘back’ each one with some coloured cardstock in the 3 pastels. You can just see it peeping in the centre of the pick in the close up.
That proved to be a sensible move because after I’d filled these with shredded DSP, and then added the eggs, taking the photos, or rather, stopping inquisitive fingers and noses of small boys was troublesome. The 2 littlies weren’t the most gentle of boys, but the picks are still intact and no bending at all on the ends.
And yes, they did share the eggs out between the 4 of them (and a few to Chris and me, of course…!)
