Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Soft Suede & Blackberry Bliss Regarding Dahlias
Some days, I really push myself to use colours that don’t immediately leap into my hands when I’m crafting. I think we all have those colours in our collections don’t we? For me, though Very Vanilla is an easy neutral, I do find myself grabbing Whisper White first, and that’s one of the must-use-must-use colours…. As is Soft Suede. That’s such a funny old colour and it seems to lean more towards the ‘manly’ colour palette, so again, I have to consciously think to use it.
A little like Blackberry Bliss. I wouldn’t say it’s a love/hate colour, but because it’s so very dark in the colour storage that I have, I forget to remember that it’s there!
So today’s card is about using them all. I did draw the line at adding in Pumpkin Pie ~ another little used colour ~ but I like the effect of this card!
I took Regarding Dahlias for the whole stamping, using a 3″ (7.5cm) panel of Blackberry Bliss and a 2-3/4″ (7cm) panel of Very Vanilla for the main area and the tiny strip of Soft Suede which I punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.
The little ‘Hi’ got a punching too, with the 1″ Square and Postage Label Punches, and with a scatter of Candy Dots, I think my challenge to use the 3 colours has come out pretty successfully.
I think. I hope…!
