Pootles’ Spotty Magnet Bag Tutorial using Stampin’ Up! DSP
I haven’t made a bag or box using magnets for quite a while, so when I was designing this bag and choosing how to close it, I decided to get them out again for a change!
Now I know that you will all ask where I get them from, so I have a link HERE for you. They are Neodymium Magnets and I use the 8mm x 1mm size. Guy is great and does ship internationally, so no worries there either!
Okay, so back to my spotty bag! Isn’t it cute?! I wasn’t intending to have 3 to show you, but I got halfway through making the Old Olive one and the door bell rang. It was Chris bringing the boys home from school and they decided to ring the bell rather than wait for Daddy to use his key….
But ever the positive, it meant I got to show you 3 different colours! Oh and while I remember, you can get 3 from a sheet of DSP!
I hope you like it, and the video!

Love this little box. I am so happy that you
give us the measurements in centimeters.
Thank you so much Anneke.
Morning Sam! I just love these bags and yes I love polka dots as well! What a great idea putting the paper on the magnets. I had my problems with magnets as I made an advent calendar. They were also so strong and I was struggling all the time. So I wish I had your idea at that time. Thankyou again for another inspiring project!
Greetings from Iris
Once again a great project will definitely try these. Thank you for sharing

Hallo Sam,
ich mag immer wieder Deine tollen Verpackungen. Danke dafür.
Ein schönes Osterfest wünscht Dir aus dem Allgäu – Gaby
Hi Sam,
I Love your projects. I live in the US, can you tell me if stampin up sells the Magnet. If not where can I buy them?
Thanks,
Happy Easter to you and your family
Sam you are the best at explaining and demonstrating the easy way of ‘boxes’ and such.
Awesome demo of the magnets! Be careful everyone with children! Little ones have been known to eat them and big troubles happen. So keep them out of reach.
Thank you again Sam
Have a awesome weekend!
I love this little bag! This paper is also one of my favorites. I also live in the US and wondered where to find these magnets. They do an awesome job. Thanks for sharing.
Such cute little bags! And I love it when I actually have everything needed to make your projects, Sam. The only exception is the magnets. I’ll opt for circular hook and loop because I’m afraid my little grandson would put magnets in his mouth if I blink for one second. Thank you so much for another great idea!
This is a lovely cute little bag. Thanks for sharing. I also like your little trick with the magnets. I have used them before and I know what you mean about it pulling away from the card or paper. I will have to remember this for next time.
Unfortunately, Guy’s Magnets is temporarily now out of stock of the 8x1mm neodymium disk magnets, but we have 7×1.5mm and 10x1mm disks which will work just as well. You can find all of these at our website at this link: http://bit.ly/1yf9pZd
LOVE this little bag. I had such fun watching your video!! I love your accent. You are TOO CUTE!!
Hi Sam. In case your German Fans would like to know where to get the magnets: http://www.magnet-shop.net. I bought some with the sticky Strip already added. They also ship to hte UK but I guess the postage charges would be quite expensive…
Hello, I did click on the link of the Designer Series Paper, but I did not find it. Can you tell me where in the shop section I can find the paper you used? Thanks a lot
Hi,
I like your project. How would be the measurements if the bag needs to be deeper?
Thanks!
Ciao from Italy,
Su
This is one of the cutiest project! Thank you for posting and sharing. I wonder if I could use Velcro as a fashioner? I am a hobby demonstrator who has rejoin Stamp In Up. Now that I have retired from 37 years of teaching, I can do what I love. Please add me to your posting listing.
Warmly,
Marilyn
Oooo definitely, but I’d say that you need to open and close the velcro a few times first to make it less ‘clingy’ xx
Love these. I would like to know what size magnets you got. I sent for some that are 5mmx0.5 and almost too small to work with. Also what kind of =mini glue dots are you using.
