South Hill & Stampin’ Up! Sunday Butterfly Aperture Card Tutorial
Well everyone knows how much I enjoy crafting with my children, and my eldest son Jack (he just turned 12!) is no stranger to art and craft. He’s actually registered on the gifted register as more able and talented in art and how his mind works baffles me!
When he was very small he would draw on anything he could get his hands on, including scraps of paper and napkins. So I guess it’s no surprise that today’s card that he made is a clever one!
But it was his card that inspired me and that then led on to the South Hill Designs locket that I’m showcasing on my blog today
I hope you like the video and the ‘how to’ of how to make it!
And of course, that you like Jack’s too…!

I love both cards. I am so glad that I took a break from making Mother’s Day (US) cards; I am definitely using your design, Sam. Thanks so much to both you and Jack for inspiring and sharing.
Love the look of both yours and Jack’s cards! Thank you both for sharing!!
I absolutely love the colors on Jack’s background, it look shimmery, like a rainbow, so lovely and incredibly creative, your children are learning so much from you Sam, I think it’s very important for them to let their imaginations fly and then go ahead and create something beautiful. I love the way he signed his art in such a personal way with his own thumb print, it makes this card TOTALLY HIS!!
Your card is simple and beautiful, love the dimension and colors, the butterflies really look like they just freed themselves from the paper and are just flying happy. I hope SU never retires this lovely punches and companion stamp set, you can use them all year round.
Thank you and Jack for this lovely cards.
Absolutely LOVE both cards…
Drawing inspiration from Jack – what a precious mom/son moment indeed. I think you both should share a big (((HUG))) and a secret handshake or high five. Thanks for sharing and the continued inspiration!
What great cards – both of them. Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas. I’m going to mention the finger print idea to my grandchildren. Such a lovely Sunday surprise. And happy birthday to the hubby. I trust he received a special card or two!
It’s enormous that you are getting thoughts from this post as well as from our dialogue made at this time.
Love both cards, but I confess I’m not so much a pastel person, so Jack’s color scheme is the one that jumps out at me and says “Yum!”
Lovely cards, Jack may giv you a run for your business, LOl.
Nice job Jack :-)))
