Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Pootles – Sahara Sand meets Pink Pirouette!

When I was making my monthly thank you cards a few weeks ago, I’d worked with the whole Subtles range of colours and had been backing them with either Sahara Sand or Crumb Cake cardstock.

I was struck by just how pretty the colours looked with the soft colour behind and wanted to use them again.

Today I pulled out the Sahara Sand/Pink Pirouette combination, and I’m really happy with it!

Now that the retiring list has been announced, and the new catalogue shown to demonstrators, I know what is hanging on in there, and what’s out the door!

I’ve absolutely loved the For All Things stamp set since it first appeared in our Winter catalogue last year, and as a carry over into the Spring catalogue this year, I wanted to use it again.

I took my lovely Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped the speckledy stamp in Pink Pirouette then stamped over it with the watercolour looking stamp from the For All Things Set, but, I stamped it off first (that means that I inked the stamp, stamped onto some scrap paper, but without reinking, I then took the stamp straight to my project – same colour tone, softer look!).

Stamping off meant that I could use Sahara Sand to stamp the leaves and keep them dominant.

Finished with a button from the Neutrals Button Pack, and a bow of linen thread, my simple card is done!

I have stamped the ‘grateful for you’ greeting inside, but as ever, I forgot about that when I took the photos…

oops!

But I hope you like my colour combination and maybe you’ll break out the subtles too.
