Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Thanks!

Stampin’ Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles – Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Thanks!

Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Pootles - Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Thanks! Petite Petals and Pansy Punch

Well it’s a rather unusual colour combination here today. I love adding a splash of black to a card when I’m working with subtles colours, but the orangeyness (it’s a word….) of the Calypso Coral and the base tones of the Crumb Cake are definitely new ones on me!

I will often look around me for colour combinations that catch my eyes, and it was that these were sat near each other after a bit of a colour-caddy-overhaul that set me off.

I love Gorgeous Grunge, I love the Petite Petals punch and with a stark white flower that was built onto the Pansy Punch, well it was definitely going to be unusual!

My ‘thanks’ sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set in the Spring Catalogue and this little baby is as versatile as the Teeny Tiny Sentiments is, perhaps even more so because you can build phrases from the words!

So is this a colour combination you’d choose? I think I’ll do it again!

WOW!! I just love the splash of Calypso Coral on this beautiful card. Gorgeous Grunge is also one of my favorite stamp sets, which I totally ignored when it first came out. After seeing a whole lot of beautiful cards made with it, I just jumped and grabbed it and now, I simply couldn’t live without it, this is one of the most versatile stamp sets Stampin Up! has, I hope they don’t retire it, ever!!!!!
Your card is so beautiful Sam, the pretty flowers you created with this two punches really stand out with that fabulous background. Love the bling and your layout, I’m going to CASE this card, I just love it.
    Thank you for sharing.

This card is simply lovely, great job Sam. I always remember the 2014 SU convention when I see Gorgeous Grunge and Bonnie calling it the “Crime Scene” stamp set. I love neutral card bases because when you add a pop of color it really pops, like the Calypso Coral does in this card.

Gorgeous grunge is on its way to my doorstep as we speak, and I already have all the other supplies I need to recreate this beautiful card! I’m doing a happy dance!
BTW, your pretty flower underscores the fact that sometimes it is better to leave things unsponged. Have a nice weekend!

I do love the “orangeyness” Sam. Yes it is a word. We will make it one. 🙂 You certainly have a way with Gorgeous Grunge making it so elegant. Another lovely creation Sam. xx
